'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he reminisces about the thrilling closing stages of Swansea's stunning fightback win against Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup. That match culminated with Galbraith briefly donning a fan's glasses following the pitch-side pile-on.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith cracked the upright with a speculative shot from 25 yards, and Cameron Burgess immediately converted the rebound before racing off toward the home end to mark the goal, with supporters mobbing the players.

Remarkable Recovery

The victory sealed an incredible recovery given the Welsh side had been behind 2-0 deep into the latter period. During the euphoria, there was some minor mishaps. Galbraith explained, "There was a spectator trying to get our attention and we were thinking: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as players but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

The victory earned a upcoming game at home against Manchester City on Wednesday, opponents Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had a prime vantage point when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with the attacker's volley from about 45 yards going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. Many argued that it was deemed an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've given it to him for attempting the shot from that far out," commented Galbraith, who began the game centrally before moving to right wing-back after the team changed shape. That meant competing with Jack Grealish, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the winger was among the City players who praised the way the underdogs approached the match.

Opponent's Class

"Athletically they are exceptional but even the fundamentals and basic skills, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they understand how to control and slow down a game. You can believe you're doing well and then without warning they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even seeing. You have to be switched on every second of the game. It demands a resilient mindset and attention just to keep pace."

Welsh Transition

The Welsh side pushed to sign Galbraith in January and beat off competition to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a fans' favourite across a couple of years at Leyton Orient and has quickly replicated that in Wales. At Orient he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who four years ago gave Galbraith his first extended run in first-team action on loan at his loan club from Manchester United. Then came a loan at League Two Salford City, before he permanently left his boyhood club.

Growth Journey

"I was perhaps a slightly green going into men's football. I think numerous professionals would say development squad matches is entirely separate. Sometimes it seems possession is exchanged without real physicality. There are limited physical contests. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adapt rapidly."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that maturation for both domestically and internationally, performing well for Northern Ireland, who remain in contention for the global tournament next summer via the playoffs and for whom he has started the recent fixtures, including both legs games against Germany. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he manipulates the ball and his eye for a game-changing assist.

Humble Beginnings

It has been an incredible journey for the kid from the Queens Park estate in the Belfast suburb, just outside Belfast, who used to see his parent, his father, also a engine room operator, play for a local club.

Manchester United Experience

Galbraith's only game for Manchester United came in the away trip in 2019, a continental tournament trip to the host city, where they played on an synthetic surface and the arena covering was closed owing to the weather of freezing cold. "This represented a long trip and it was cold out there," he recalls, grinning. "The preceding week, several youth players and I trained together, so that aided our adjustment. Just to travel with the first team and make an appearance at the end was unbelievable."

Moving On

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he transferred from aged 16? "It was relatively straightforward, because I arrived at the moment where I understood I couldn't establish myself at the top level. I'm extremely thankful for the experience gained but it became apparent where I felt I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play professional soccer. Now I'm gradually working my way back up."

Welsh Adaptation

It is the middle of the day at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has a commitment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another step towards getting on the road. Before his recent move to Sketty, the 24-year-old was a constant rider in Swansea's nicknamed fun bus, a small coach driven by club employees, the transport team, which shuttles players to and from practice and games.

"My companions include the Portuguese player, the Brazilian, an Ivorian player – Melker Widell used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's enjoyable to spend time with the lads but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and driving. Franco likes to pull a few pranks; he's frequently playing tricks."

Public Engagement

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on the Tube after commuting at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
